Preparing to preach on Daniel 3 this week I was reminded of this truth. The "fires" of life merely reveal our true character and priorities which have been there under the surface the entire time.
Here at New Hope we always tell you to "Go and Be the Church". Let me just say, you're not going to do that well unless you have been changed by an encounter with the Living God. Having a proper view of God's Glory and a personal Understanding of God's Grace prepares us to serve
Some food for thought from my devotional with A.W. Tozer this morning. "A local church will only be as great s its conception of God. An individual Christian will be a success or a failure depending upon what he or she thinks of God. It is critically important that we have a knowledge of the Holy One, that we know what God is like."
As I have studied the book of Job this week, I've come to a conclusion that the book of Job is not intended to answer the question of "why evil/suffering exists, but rather it explores how we respond to it.

preaching on Following God when life falls apart out of the book of Job this week and came across this bit of wisdom in my preparation. “Nothing is more frustrating and restricting than to set up rules for God and then wonder why He does not follow them.”
If I were to ask how you measured success, what would your answer be? This week we talk about the prophet Jeremiah and the great yoke that he had to bear; come join us as we find out the answer to that question.

Preparing to preach on the life of Joseph this week has been challenging to say the least...... This about sums it up though: Most everyone I know has felt betrayed at some point in their life. I pray that when we face those moments, we will have the faith to see God's greater plan and not succumb to bitterness.

I wanted to upload a little video with the content of the message I would have delivered if I had not been ill this past Sunday.
